Introducing the Online Laser Training distance-learning course Laser Physics & Safety Laser User [ED220] ‘Core of Knowledge’ to provide you with a fundamental understanding of laser and light technology, how light interacts with skin to produce specific biological effects and how to use laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) safely. It also covers relevant standards and regulations governing their use in a professional setting in different jurisdictions.

It is a legal obligation in some states of Australia that a Laser Physics & Safety Laser User [ED220] ‘Core of Knowledge’ course from a recognised or approved trainer is provided as a requirement of registration and/or licencing.

Training videos and workbooks will be provided for you to study the course in detail and complete the online multiple-choice assessments at the end of each section.

Online Laser Training (OLT) laser/IPL theory courses are quality assured customised programmes of study that are bespoke to OLT and not available on the UK regulated framework. However, our programmes have been mapped to the relevant National Occupational Standards (NOS) and aligned to the regulated framework meaning that this ‘Core of knowledge’ Laser User course is equivalent in academic terms to a Level 4 qualification.

This online course is worth 30 CPD learning credits which is equivalent to a notional 30 hours of learning. Typically, the course takes 2 – 5 days to complete, with a four week maximum to finish the course.
